Micron-R is a computer setworks for band sawmills (or sawmill controller, or computerized automatic sawhead positioning system). The operator sets the desired board thickness, and the controller calculates the position based on the cut width and automatically moves the sawhead to the required height.
 
Simple Operation
The operator enters the required board thickness using the keypad, and Micron-R does the rest. It calculates the next cutting position, takes the programmed sawblade kerf into account, and automatically moves the saw head to the correct height.
The current saw head position and the positioning process are shown on the display, so the operator can easily follow every movement.
Using Micron-R is similar to using a calculator, but it also automatically positions the saw head and accounts for the sawblade kerf.
 
Suitable for Almost Any Sawmill
Micron-R can be installed on almost any band sawmill, regardless of its manufacturer or design. It can also be used on horizontal resaws, circular edgers, and other woodworking machines that require accurate automatic positioning.
 
Easy Installation
Micron-R normally does not require major mechanical or electrical modifications to the sawmill. When the machine already has two push buttons or a toggle switch for moving the saw head up and down, the controller can be easily connected to the existing movement control circuit.
The system can be installed by a qualified electrician. The control panel can be mounted outside the main electrical cabinet, where it remains clearly visible and easily accessible to the operator.
 
Micron-R supports several operating modes:
Top-down sawing — successive cutting of boards from the top of the log or cant.
Board list mode — preparation of a cutting list when calculating positions from the bottom up.
Operator assistance — three available options for selecting the most suitable board thickness.
Lamella cutting program — a dedicated mode for cutting logs or cants into lamellas.
Three sawblade return modes — different options for raising the sawblade after the cut.
Decimal thickness entry — dimensions such as 25.5 mm can be entered.
External controls — two additional operator buttons can be connected.
 
Reliable Operation
The controller includes built-in diagnostics and monitors the permitted movement limits of the machine.
The FastAction positioning algorithm automatically adapts to the machine drive, helping maintain stable positioning without daily recalibration.
Micron-R is protected against electromagnetic interference and is designed to operate in temperatures from −30°C to +55°C.
